Scheduled for purchase on May 17, 2011, this second DLC installment with be available for download on the Xbox 360 for 800 Microsoft Points. For those who prefer their wasteland experience on the PlayStation 3, Steam, or Direct2Drive, this add-on may be bought for the more conventionally understood $9.99. What can gamers expect to see in “Honest Hearts?” Bethesda offers the following description:
A religious war in the desert? That sounds awfully familiar. Potential for religious blasphemy aside, the newest trailer shows off some of the combat between the warring groups with narration provided by the Burned Man, who appears to be a big believer in the Second Amendment.
As with past Fallout DLC, this one comes chock full of new perks, weapons, and enemies and adds a new location to the Wasteland in the form of Zion National Park:
For those who prefer still images to analyze, we have the following screenshots that show off the terrain and some of characters, including Mr. Burned Man himself.
New Enemies: From the deadly Yao Guai and exotically lethal Greek Geckos to new hostile tribals, Zion Canyon is as dangerous as it is beautiful.
New Perks and Weapons: Survive the wild with Tribal Wisdom or exact increased damage with Eye for Eye. Honest Hearts offers a host of new perks and weapons including the .45 Auto Pistol, .45 Auto Submachine Gun, the Compliance Regular, Fire Bombs, War Clubs, and Yao Guai Gauntlets.
Factions were a big part of Fallout: New Vegas, and it appears that a similar scenario could be the thrust of “Honest Hearts.” Let’s just hope this battle for Zion doesn’t include an unnecessary dance orgy (I’m looking at you, Matrix Reloaded).
“Honest Hearts” releases for Fallout: New Vegas on May 17, 2011, for the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
